Mahle Motorsports has added 6.2L GM LT1 PowerPak Piston Assemblies for standard and 4.000” stroke applications to its very popular line of performance piston assembly kits. The 6.2L GM LT1 pistons are ultra strong, light weight, slipper skirt forged pistons designed for aftermarket 6.125” connecting rods with 0.927” pins and true canted valve pockets matching the valve angles of the OE cylinder heads.
All PowerPak pistons are coated with Mahle’s proprietary Grafal skirt coating, as well as a triple coated phosphate dry film to protect the pin bores from galling. They feature hard anodized top ring grooves for added protection from micro-welding. And as with all PowerPak assemblies, the kits come with German steel pins, race proven round wire locks and now the latest 1mm, 1mm, 2mm HV385 steel performance ring sets.
These pistons are built specifically for direct injection and net 12.1:1 compression ratio with factory GM head gaskets and factory GM gen 5 LT1 cylinder head chambers. The compression height for this piston set is 1.105".
**Due to the piston oil squirters used in the gen 5 LT1 engine block and the longer 4.00" stroke, some clearancing may be required on the pistons to clear the squirters.
