Handle serious horsepower with the FTI Performance Level 5.5 Shorty Pro Brake Powerglide Racing Transmission. Designed for demanding competition applications, this Pro Series Powerglide combines a compact shorty-tailhousing configuration with an SFI-certified aftermarket case and heavy-duty internal components engineered for high-horsepower racing.

Rated for up to 2200 horsepower, the Level 5.5 Shorty is built for racers who require maximum drivetrain strength and reliability in a reduced-length Powerglide package. The shorty configuration is ideal for race chassis and drivetrain combinations where transmission length and packaging are important considerations.

The transmission features an FTI billet aluminum valvebody with Pro Brake, a 10-clutch drum, and a new straight-cut planetary. A proprietary alloy high-flow billet ringless input shaft works together with a 300M billet output shaft to provide the strength required for extreme-power applications.

FTI also equips the Level 5.5 with a new 7-bolt high-volume ringless pump and deep aluminum transmission pan. Combined with the aftermarket SFI case, these components create a purpose-built Powerglide package for serious drag racing and competition use.
